Skyline Views or Cobblestone Streets? Choosing Your NYC Base

Where you sleep in New York City defines your trip. The city is a collection of “villages,” each with a completely different personality.

  • For the Classic NYC Vibe: Stay in the Upper West Side. It’s right next to Central Park, quieter than Midtown, and filled with beautiful brownstones and classic diners. It feels like a movie set.
  • For the Trendsetters: Look at SoHo or Tribeca. These areas are famous for cobblestone streets, high-end fashion boutiques, and loft-style hotels. It’s expensive, but you’ll be in the heart of the city’s most stylish district.
  • The Modern Choice: Long Island City (Queens). Just one subway stop away from Manhattan, this area offers modern high-rise hotels at a fraction of the price, often with incredible unobstructed views of the entire Manhattan skyline across the East River.
